The Garrison Chapel
The King’s Foundation occupies the Grade II-listed Garrison Chapel in the former Chelsea Barracks to publicly exhibit elements of our work.
About The Garrison Chapel
At the heart of London’s Chelsea Barracks development, nestled just behind the creatively vibrant Pimlico Road, sits The Garrison Chapel; the last remaining building of the original 19th-century complex.
Our exhibitions at The Garrison Chapel have a particular emphasis on traditional arts and heritage craft skills, in addition to a number of special exhibitions and events.
Our events, classes and functions are widely accessible for all to encourage connectivity in the community – ensuring the Chapel continues to play a pivotal role in the neighbourhood and beyond.

The King’s Foundation’s School of Traditional Arts Icon Painting Programme
Ten students will present work created during their three-year part-time icon painting programme. The icons are painted using the traditional technique of egg tempera on gessoed wooden panels, many with burnished gold. Students will also show monochrome studies on paper, works in their own right as well as being studies in iconographic form. Icons of Christ and his saints are a portal to heaven, a testimony to a world seen with the eye of the heart as well as of the body.Learn more about The Garrison Chapel
