About the Castle and Gardens of Mey
The most northerly inhabited castle on mainland Britain, the Castle of Mey was built in 1566 and purchased by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother in 1952.
The Castle’s facilities include the former granary building which has been developed into luxury bed and breakfast accommodation, Captain’s House a self-catering house with panoramic views over the Pentland Firth, a Visitor Centre, Animal Centre and Walled Gardens.

Looking for a romantic wedding venue in the Highlands of Scotland?
The Castle and Gardens of Mey is available for wedding bookings of up to 60 guests between April and October. If you prefer a smaller more intimate wedding, the Granary Lodge is a beautiful setting for year-round weddings.
