The King’s Foundation supports UK-Italy celebratory dinner at Highgrove Gardens

Attended by The King and Queen, a special dinner was held on Friday 7 February in the Orchard Room at Highgrove Gardens, the estate’s dedicated entertaining space.
The event comes ahead of Their Majesties’ State Visit to Italy in April, and was hosted by the Italian Ambassador to celebrate UK-Italy relations, with input from Italian-American actor Stanley Tucci.

The theme of the evening was ‘Slow Food and Fashion’ which is epitomised by The King’s Foundation’s work at Highgrove Gardens, where the gardens use organic principles and we teach sustainable, traditional heritage skills at specialist workshops on site.

Our King’s Foundation students and alumni had the opportunity at the event to showcase their skills in millinery, embroidery, sustainable fashion design and furniture making to special guests including our ambassadors David Beckham and Patrick Grant.

The events teams from Dumfries House and Highgrove Gardens came together to deliver the dinner, which included a menu by Italian chef Francesco Mazzei.
