The King and Queen visit The Garrison Chapel to view exhibition celebrating Turquoise Mountain’s 20th anniversary
Their Majesties The King and Queen visited The Garrison Chapel – The King’s Foundation’s exhibition space in London – to see a new exhibition from the Foundation’s sister charity, ‘Craftsmanship and Community: 20 Years of Turquoise Mountain’. As part of the visit Their Majesties added an element to a mother-of-pearl inlay piece with artisans who are exhibiting.

The Garrison Chapel regularly hosts exhibitions of work created by students and alumni of The King’s Foundation, as well as exhibitions and events of wider cultural interest.
Turquoise Mountain has supported artisans and communities to protect and revitalise cultural heritage for 20 years.
The King and Queen viewed the ‘Craftsmanship and Community: 20 Years of Turquoise Mountain’ exhibition and met artisans who created the collections. The crafts on display include hand-woven carpets and textiles, embroidery, jewellery, hand-blown glass, woodwork, ceramics, tilework, stonework, miniature painting and lacquerware. Their Majesties were shown the exhibition by Shoshana Stewart, President of Turquoise Mountain and Rory Stewart, Founding Director.

The work of Turquoise Mountain and its President, Shoshana Stewart, features in The King’s Foundation and Prime Video’s new documentary, Finding Harmony: A King’s Vision, now available to stream in 240 countries. The charity’s work in Afghanistan is showcased as an example of the Philosophy of Harmony in practice.
The exhibition will be open from Thursday 12th February until Sunday 22nd February at The Garrison Chapel.
