The Curious Garden moves to new home at Farnborough College of Technology
The RHS and The King’s Foundation Curious Garden has been moved to its new home at Farnborough College of Technology, giving students hands-on opportunities to learn through plants, creativity and horticulture, while creating a shared space for the college and the wider community.
The Curious Garden was created for the RHS Chelsea Flower Show earlier this year. It was designed by Frances Tophill in collaboration with our Royal Founding President His Majesty The King, our Ambassador Sir David Beckham and the RHS and The King’s Foundation Ambassador Alan Titchmarsh CBE. The group met at Highgrove in Spring to agree plans for the garden.

Garden trainees and apprentices from both Highgrove Gardens and RHS Wisley contributed to creating the garden.
The garden has now been relocated to Farnborough College of Technology, where it will help students to learn about plants, creativity and horticulture, and creating a shared space for the college and the wider community.
The Curious Garden has been adapted for its new home by The Landscaping Consultants UK, while retaining core elements, including the oak-framed Museum of Curiosities which will be used as an outdoor classroom.
Features including the easel, designed by our King’s Foundation furniture-making graduate Eleanor Pickin, remain part of the garden.
Key planting such as David Austin Roses’ The King’s Rose and the Sir David Beckham Rose, as well as honeysuckle, iris and nasturtiums, will preserve the character and spirit of the show garden.
We’re so delighted to see the garden in its forever home where it will continue to inspire young people.
