Horticulture – Events and open days

At the Pierburg Education Garden, we host several events across the year linked in with our school activity.

These include the Festival of Farming, Family Science Day, career-themed enrichment days and public open days.

Pupils who stay in our Residential Centre can spend time in the Garden. We also offer gardening and cooking classes to students on our wellbeing programmes who are keen to develop a positive lifestyle.

Each July we host an open day that allows the public a rare glimpse into the teaching curriculum and the philosophy behind the Garden.

Our 2025 event proved to be a huge success, and we’d like to thank all 313 of you who enjoyed the wildlife hunt and bug hotel building, flower pounding and tote-bag making, baking, mindful movement sessions and hugely informative guided garden tours. The sun shone, the bees buzzed and the birds chirped; we couldn’t have asked for a better day. If you haven’t done so already, we’d really appreciate your feedback. Please scan the QR code to let us know your thoughts.

Please check back in July 2026 for information of the next Open Day.
