Rapid Planning Toolkit: ABF x RTP Review

Download the report

The world’s urban population is set to increase dramatically in the next three decades, with most of this rapid urbanisation occurring in towns and cities of less than one million inhabitants. The Rapid Planning Toolkit for Urban Expansion is a four-step methodology designed for cities and towns experiencing or anticipating rapid growth and seeking to manage that growth safely and sustainably.

In this report, we set out our observations and findings following a review of the Toolkit pilot implementation in Bo, Sierra Leone, and highlight the ways in which the discipline of surveying and principles of land management can be incorporated in it’s methodology and implementation. to improve it’s utility, and ensuring that it is fit for purpose in contexts with challenging land registration and transfer issues.
