About Harmony

Our work is underpinned by King Charles III’s philosophy of Harmony: that by understanding the balance, order and relationships between ourselves and the natural world, we can create a more sustainable future.

Harmony: A New Way of Looking at Our World

‘Harmony: A New Way of Looking at Our World’ was published in 2010. The book explained the then Prince of Wales’ philosophy.

It covers a range of subjects, from the way we plan and design urban spaces to the way we farm and produce our food, the way we approach our health and wellbeing, the way we process waste, and the importance of developing more circular economies.

It showed the fundamental connections between all these areas and how looking holistically at the world can help us solve its biggest problems.

The Harmony Council

The Harmony Council is a group of practitioners and thinkers who help bring His Majesty’s philosophy of Harmony to life. From sustainable farmers to scientists, educators and authors, the Harmony Council helps to shape The King’s philosophy and bring Harmony projects to fruition.

Working with nature, not against her

The philosophy of Harmony shapes all of our work at The King’s Foundation. We put this philosophy into practice and advocate for living harmoniously with the natural world across our work, ultimately aiming to improve the wellbeing of people and planet.
