The King’s Foundation marks World Cancer Day with Winter Warmers event at Highgrove
Today, we welcomed cancer charities with links to The King and Queen to our Orchard Room at Highgrove Gardens for a special Winter Warmers event to mark World Cancer Day.

Our Winter Warmers initiative was first introduced in 2023 to combat social isolation in the local community during the winter months, and provide a warm and welcoming space to local residents including elderly and vulnerable people. Participants come to Highgrove for teas, coffees, food, crafts and activities – all free of charge.
World Cancer Day takes place every year on 4th February. Today’s event at Highgrove was a special celebration of local charities supporting people affected by cancer, including Maggie’s Cheltenham, Charlie’s Gloucester, Sue Ryder and Longfield. His Majesty is Patron of Sue Ryder.

Attendees were welcomed to the Orchard Room for afternoon tea, music, chatting and even some dancing. We were joined by a live band and lindy hop dancers.
